Service scope, not assessment findings
These assessment areas help you identify the environment and issues to review. They are not findings from a specific customer environment. Agree scope, access, test windows and deliverables before work begins.
High availability and DAG
Review DAG membership, quorum, witness, database copies and failover history where applicable to the deployment.
Mailbox databases
Review database mounts, growth, available space, logging and search health for the installed version.
Mail flow and transport
Review queues, transport services and send/receive connectors; test mail flow within the agreed scope.
Client access
Review Outlook, web and mobile access, Autodiscover and internal/external URLs.
Certificates and authentication
Review certificate expiry, trust chains, service bindings and authentication settings.
Resources and performance
Review service health, CPU, memory, network and storage performance against workload needs.
Versions and maintenance
Inventory installed versions, updates and maintenance windows; use current lifecycle and compatibility requirements for recommendations.
Backup and disaster recovery
Review backup results, log truncation, retention and recovery procedures. Validate recoverability through agreed tests.
Getting started
Share versions, an architecture overview and current issues to discuss an assessment. Remediation and changes follow a separately agreed scope.
